Extrinsic Music Group Video Distribution Services
At Extrinsic Music Group, we offer a comprehensive video distribution service that extends beyond audio, allowing our artists to reach a wider audience through popular platforms like YouTube (via Vevo), Tidal Music Video, and Apple Music Video. Our video distribution services are linked with Vevo, one of the most prestigious video platforms for artists, giving our clients unparalleled exposure.
Distribution Overview
While we distribute audio content for free, video distribution incurs a small fee of €1.50 per video, applicable to all artists, including those selected by us or those who apply via our submission form. We consider this pricing to be highly competitive and accessible to artists at all levels. This minimal fee ensures that artists get their music videos on major platforms while maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism.
Video Submission Requirements
To ensure that your video meets the standards required by Vevo, Tidal, and Apple Music, it is crucial to adhere to the following specifications. These guidelines are in place to guarantee a high-quality viewing experience for your audience and to meet the stringent requirements of video platforms.
Technical Requirements:
Resolution: Videos must be submitted in High Definition (HD) with a minimum resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Videos that are not HD will not pass the Quality Control (QC) process.
Format: Accepted formats are .mp4 or .mov, encoded using the H.264 codec. This ensures optimal quality and compatibility across streaming platforms.
Aspect Ratio: The standard aspect ratio for Vevo videos is 16:9. Ensure that your video adheres to this ratio to avoid letterboxing or distortion.
Audio Specifications: Audio must be encoded in stereo format with a minimum sample rate of 44.1 kHz and a bit depth of 16 bits. Poor audio quality is one of the most common reasons videos fail QC.
Content Guidelines:
Professional Production: All videos must be professionally produced. Videos that contain visible watermarks, logos, timestamps, or any unintentional artifacts will be rejected.
Copyright Compliance: You must own or have clear rights to use all content in the video, including background music, images, and any additional media. Vevo and other platforms have strict policies regarding copyright, and failure to clear rights will result in automatic rejection.
Content Restrictions: Explicit content must be properly labeled and adhere to Vevo's and Tidal's content policies. While explicit content is accepted, it must comply with the platform's guidelines regarding language, violence, and adult themes.
Branding: Vevo videos are to remain free from any external or third-party branding, except for approved music label or artist branding. No advertising or promotional content can be embedded within the video itself.
The Quality Control (QC) Process
Once your video has been submitted to us, it will undergo a thorough Quality Control (QC) check to ensure that it meets the technical and content standards of our partner platforms. This process can take several days, and we recommend submitting your content well in advance of any planned release dates.
QC Review: This step includes checking the video for adherence to the required format, resolution, and quality standards. The QC team will also ensure the content respects platform guidelines and copyright laws.
Platform Approval: If your video successfully passes QC, it will be distributed to YouTube via Vevo, Tidal, and Apple Music Video, where it will be made available to the public.
In Case of QC Failure
If your video fails to pass the QC process, there is no refund, as the failure indicates that the video did not meet the required standards. This policy is in place because the fee covers the QC process and initial distribution attempt. However, we offer you the chance to make necessary corrections and resubmit the video without having to pay the fee again.
Feedback on Rejection: If your video is rejected, you will receive a detailed explanation of the issues that caused the rejection, allowing you to make the necessary adjustments.
Resubmission: Once the corrections have been made, you can resubmit the video, and we will replace the previously failed version with the updated one. The new version will then go through the QC process again at no additional cost.
Please note that while we allow resubmission, refunds are not possible even if the video fails QC multiple times. This policy is designed to ensure that artists take full responsibility for meeting the distribution requirements, which are clearly outlined to avoid complications.
